“Girls Like You” spent seven weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The music video came out in May 2018. We worked on it.
What we did:
Rotoscopy. Our roto work kept the transitions seamless.
Marker cleanup. We removed tracking markers from some of the shots.
What those two jobs mean. Rotoscopy is tracing a subject frame by frame, so it can be separated from the background. Tracking markers are small dots placed on set so a shot can be tracked later. Once the shot is tracked, the dots have to go. Both jobs are slow. Both are invisible when done right.
